The wall behind the kitchen was the garage, so we cut through it, set the glass in the front and put the mirror and television in a box behind. Because the garage is unheated and the kitchen is not, a temperature difference across the glass would mean condensation, so the box has its own ventilation, drawing room-temperature air from the kitchen through it and back out again. Nobody asked for that. It is the kind of thing you think of when you have done this for thirty years.
